Biography

Li Tianrun is in charge of defending Fang La's Dusong Pass from the attacking Liangshan forces. During the first skirmish, Li Tianrun charges out of the pass and takes the enemy by surprise, slaying Zhou Tong and wounding Li Zhong.

In the next battle, Li Tianrun's subordinate, Zhang Tao, engages Liangshan's Dong Ping in a spear fight. Li Tianrun joins in the fight and he fights with Dong Ping for ten rounds. However, Dong Ping is forced to retreat as his arm has been injured by cannon fire. "Featherless Arrow" Zhang Qing continues the fight with Li Tianrun. Li Tianrun and Zhang Qing shift around a pine tree, with Li using the tree as a cover to dodge Zhang's attacks. Zhang Qing's spear is stuck in the tree and Li Tianrun uses the opportunity to spear him in the abdomen, killing Zhang.

After Dusong Pass is overrun by Liangshan forces, Li Tianrun encounters Lu Junyi and fights with Lu for more than 30 rounds. However, he is distracted and loses concentration and is eventually speared to death by Lu Junyi.
